about

The world of kokle music is one album richer. Latvīte Cirse plays not only the ethnographic, but also the electronic and the concerto kokle. In her solo album ''Mana kokle'' she has included six compositions that she has composed in recent years which portray the emotions of the world.

Latvīte’s music shows noticeable effect both from folk and academic music. It is characterized by clearness, polyrhythmic elements and a musical expanse. Her music carries a bright tone and a sensuous dynamic. In this hasteful and unrestful century, Latvīte’s album will provide you with comfort, will make your days brighter by letting you drink from the spring of strength of the Latvian people.

Latvīte has graduated from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, has studied at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts in Helsinki, learning the different means of playing the kantele, has participated in competitions in Belarus, Russia, Finland, has played in groups Raksti, Spēles, Vētras Saites and composes music for concerto kokle ensambles.
